With extensive expertise in economics and econometrics, Dr. Belley specializes in economic analyses supporting testifying experts involved in complex antitrust engagements, including monopolization, vertical foreclosure, delay of generic pharmaceutical competition, market power, and damages estimation.
Dr. Belley also has experience conducting statistical and forecasting analyses in support of testifying experts involved in mass torts and bankruptcy cases by using diverse claimant databases and preparing elaborate models simulating future liabilities. In addition, Dr. Belley has supported clients responding to Department of Justice requests regarding acquisition matters.
Dr. Belley has worked on high-profile cases (e.g., In re National Football League’s “Sunday Ticket” Antitrust Litigation, fuboTV v. The Walt Disney Company, et al., and In re Purdue Pharma L.P.) as well as a diverse range of smaller engagements.
Before joining Secretariat, Dr. Belley was a Senior Economist at Bates White. Prior to his work in economic consulting, Dr. Belley was Assistant Professor of Economics at Kansas State University where he taught PhD and undergraduate courses in labor economics and microeconomics. His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals such as the Journal of Human Capital, the Canadian Journal of Economics, and the B.E. Journal of Economic Analysis & Policy.
