Mr. Airey is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor (MRICS) and Chartered Construction Manager (MCIOB), with 14+ years of construction experience, who has provided quantity surveying services on live construction projects and international disputes within the infrastructure, residential, commercial and energy sectors.

Mr. Airey has supported quantum expert witness engagements for Europe, Africa and Middle East based project disputes within the infrastructure, commercial and energy sectors. He has undertaken assessments and professional report writing for various types of claims, including delay and disruption costs, value of work performed at termination, contract variations, loss and expense, cost to complete, and defect rectification.

Within his live project delivery experience, Mr. Airey has gained extensive practical experience in assessing and managing claims, dispute negotiations, management of termination, interim and final account payments, contract administration, procurement and tendering, contract drafting, project risk, cash flow forecasting, cost value reconciliation, and supply chain management. His live project experience was gained working for main contractors (primarily in joint ventures delivering major UK infrastructure projects), consultancies, and subcontractors.

Throughout Mr. Airey’s live project and quantum expert witness roles, he has developed experience with various forms of contracts including NEC3 ECC & PSC contracts (all payment options), JCT, FIDIC, framework agreements, and bespoke contracts.

Mr. Airey also has experience working within a structural and civil engineering design role for residential and commercial projects. He has an appreciation of design principles, approaches and standards which assists in his review of technical documentation when preparing quantum assessments.
