​​Dr. Schwartz is an experienced scientist with expertise in synthesis, engineering, and applications of plastics and plastic formulations for use in a wide range of industries.​

​​Dr. Schwartz is an experienced polymer scientist and consultant specializing in failure analysis, product design, and developing intellectual property. He has experience aiding and evaluating a wide range of industries and products including textiles, commercial and residential pipes, coatings, microelectronics, electronics, biodegradable and recyclable plastics, consumer products, medical devices, and packaging.

​Dr. Schwartz has extensive expertise in characterization techniques for polymers and how to utilize those techniques to understand the impact of chemical, environmental, or mechanical stressors on polymer performance. He has experience in the synthesis and use of additives to affect visual, mechanical, chemical, and thermal properties of polymers.

​Before joining Secretariat, Dr. Schwartz was an independent consultant aiding clients in the evaluation and failure analysis of plastics. Prior to his independent consulting, Dr. Schwartz served as the chief scientist and CEO of a startup whose principal focus was the synthesis and use of polymers with closed-loop recyclability and polymer membranes for hydrogen electrolyzers. Earlier in his career, Dr. Schwartz was employed as a consultant with a large engineering and scientific consulting firm. As an undergraduate, Dr. Schwartz was employed by a company fabricating transistors and diodes with silicon carbide (SiC).​
