Angus Walker works in Secretariat’s Damages and Forensic Investigations team and specializes in damages quantification and business valuation, predominantly in commercial disputes.
Mr. Walker has more than nine years of experience in accounting and financial consulting and is qualified as a chartered accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants. He is also a Chartered Business Valuator with the Chartered Institution of Canadian Business Valuators.
As a forensic accountant, Mr. Walker has provided advice through all aspects of the litigation process – from pre-action valuation through to hearings, and assisted clients in mediation.
These disputes have encompassed loss of profits (including assessment of effective mitigation), valuations, breach of Share Purchase Agreement warranties and related damages, the reasonableness of liquidated damages, and assessment of cartel arrangements. Mr. Walker has broad industry experience, including construction, manufacturing, oil & gas, insurance, waste management, banking and finance, shipping, hospitality, renewable energy, and telecommunications.
Before joining Secretariat, Mr. Walker worked at a Big Four accounting firm. There he worked predominantly in the financial services sector, with hedge funds, private equity, and private credit funds, and provided assistance to establish their operations and any restructuring work undertaken.
