
John McErlane
Director
John McErlane is a Director with Secretariat based in Hong Kong. He is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and specializes in advising on quantity surveying and quantum related issues on construction, engineering and oil & gas projects.
Having worked as a lead assistant to the quantum expert on several international and domestic arbitrations, Mr. McErlane is experienced in the quantification and valuation of complex contractual claims relating to prolongation, disruption, acceleration, termination, variations and defective works.
Prior to working in the consulting field, Mr. McErlane has worked for both owners / operators and contractors on major capital works projects in Europe, the Middle East and Asia across a wide range of sectors including power generation, oil and gas, petrochemical, civils infrastructure, mining, marine and building projects.
Mr. McErlane holds a BSc (Hons) degree in Commercial Management and Quantity Surveying from the University of Manchester (UK) as well as a Post Graduate Diploma in Arbitration and Mediation from the University of Hong Kong (SPACE).
