Peter van der Schans has more than 20 years of industry experience in construction consulting and strategic advisory services focusing on industrial facilities including LNG liquefaction and regasification, chemical plants, power, and upstream, midstream, and downstream oil and gas facilities, water treatment, mining, transmission (pipeline and power), commercial, residential, and transportation projects. He provides expert testimony and other dispute advisory services to law firms, owners, contractors, and insurers.
Mr. van der Schans has advised clients regarding forensic schedule delay analysis, CPM scheduling, disruption, labor productivity loss, contract damages, construction claims, contract termination, cost control, and project management. He has advised the world’s largest companies regarding execution of the largest and most complex multi-billion-dollar domestic and international capital projects.
He has performed project management assessments, cost estimate reviews, cost assessments and audits, schedule analysis, change order preparation and defense, insurance claims preparation and defense, contract and license agreement negotiations, dispute mitigation, risk assessment, and project management strategic advisory assistance.
Mr. van der Schans has facilitated the resolution of tens of billions of dollars in construction claims and disputes across a wide variety of industries. Mr. van der Schans has been designated as an independent testifying expert in state, federal and arbitration venues (including AAA and ICC).
