Dr. Suarez’s research explores spatial economic dynamics, analyzing how national institutions affect sub-national development levels in Africa and how air pollution affects health outcomes in different areas of Mexico City. His work frequently integrates big data, advanced econometric techniques, and machine learning methods.

Dr. Suarez earned his PhD in Economics from Stanford University. He has worked as an instructor or teaching assistant for 15 different graduate and undergraduate courses.

He is fluent in English and Spanish.
