President

In his role as President, Mr. Blanco helps lead Secretariat's strategic initiatives and capabilities to drive growth, recruit leading experts, and elevate operational performance around the world.

Joseph Blanco serves as Secretariat’s President based in Atlanta. As part of the firm’s executive team, he helps develop and lead the firm’s overall strategic initiatives to drive growth, attract and retain top talent, and optimize organizational performance. With more than 20 years of legal experience, as well as three years of military experience in the U.S. Navy, Mr. Blanco brings a wealth of experience to capture Secretariat’s many opportunities as well as enhance the careers of Secretariat’s established and emerging experts.

Prior to joining Secretariat, Mr. Blanco served as President of Crawford & Company, where he was a member of the Board of Directors and oversaw the company’s international businesses and Broadspire, Inc. (third-party claims solutions provider), as well as legal services, global centers of excellence, and M&A integration. He previously served as Crawford & Company’s executive vice president and general counsel for four years, where he oversaw the legal, internal audit, and global ethics and compliance aspects of the business.

Mr. Blanco previously served as the managing partner of the Atlanta office of the world’s largest law firm, Dentons. He also held the position of vice chair of the corporate department of McKenna, Long & Aldridge LLP, prior to its merger with Dentons. Prior to law school, he served in the U.S. Navy onboard the U.S.S. Nicholson (DD-982) and then on the staff of COMDESRON 4.

Mr. Blanco serves on the boards of Woodruff Arts Center and the Atlanta Area Council, Boy Scouts of America. He was a member of the Leadership Atlanta Class of 2012 and the Leadership Georgia Class of 2014, and is currently a member of the Rotary Club of Atlanta and the Buckhead Coalition.
