Deven Bowles has eighteen years of experience in both industry and consulting roles, with a specialized focus on the energy sector. He has extensive, hands-on experience in multiple areas of oil and gas including upstream, midstream, and marketing accounting, revenue, finance, commercial planning and negotiations, and lease and contract compliance. While working for one of the nation’s largest oil and gas producers, his department was responsible for over $22 billion in annual revenue from nearly every producing basin in the United States. In addition, Mr. Bowles has experience leading audit teams, analyzing financial statements, developing financial models, and performing market analysis studies.
Mr. Bowles has testified in commercial disputes in U.S. State and Federal courts. In addition, he has provided testimony in arbitration matters. His testimony primarily deals with contractual disputes and industry customs and practices, including royalty valuation, market value analysis, production in paying quantities, infrastructure and rate disputes, appropriate documentation of agreements, product imbalances, and other commercial issues.
Mr. Bowles consults on contractual disputes, industry custom and practice, evolving market conditions, economic damage evaluations, and royalty disputes. He advises on various types of financial and accounting agreements. Additionally, he advises clients involved in negotiations for gathering, processing, tolling (LNG), and transportation agreements as well as gas, oil, and LNG sales agreements. He has significant experience working on royalty dispute engagements, including royalty valuation, lease compliance, analysis of post-production costs, and determination of market value pricing.
