Bernie de Jager spent 30 years of his career with Deloitte in various roles including as a clearing partner in their National Office advising clients and audit teams on technical accounting issues, an audit partner serving large multinational companies and smaller private companies, an advisor in Deloitte’s merger and acquisition services practice, and lastly a leader of their Accounting & Reporting Advisory practice. He served clients in the technology, life sciences, and financial services industries among others.
During his time at Deloitte he served as an audit and accounting & reporting advisory partner with a focus on clients in the technology, life sciences, financial services and FinTech industries. He also served as a clearing partner in the Accounting and Reporting Services group of Deloitte’s National Office. In his role as an audit partner, he served clients in the financial services, software, SaaS, FinTech and Internet industries. In his role as a National Office consultation resource, he provided advice regarding technical accounting issues to audit and advisory clients and engagement teams, in areas such as income taxes, share-based payments, derivative instruments, consolidations, business combinations and revenue recognition.
Mr. de Jager also led Deloitte’s West Region Accounting & Reporting Advisory (ARA) service function and earlier in his Deloitte career, he provided merger and acquisition related services in the technology industry.
Mr. de Jager spent most of his Deloitte career based in Silicon Valley serving both large public and smaller private companies in the technology industry and has also spent time serving certain multinational clients in Deloitte’s London and South African offices.
