Secretariat Professionals Quoted in Boston Globe Article on Historic WNBA CBA Negotiations

November 5, 2025

Managing Director Tamika Tremaglio and Associate Director Sonia Chase were featured in a recent article in The Boston Globe breaking down the WNBA collective bargaining agreement negotiations and how they compare with those of past eras in the league.

When she entered the league in the 1990s, Sonia explained, there were no talks about revenue sharing or bonuses.

“We were really focused on keeping the league alive. We were building something that didn’t exist before, and that foundation really mattered to all of us. We knew this was something really special and we knew it would just grow from there.”

But with the league’s popularity at an all-time high and the threat of other leagues starting, players have now left survival mode and “turned into strategy mode.” Tamika added that the league is a unique position to reimagine what’s possible for women’s professional sports.

“It’s a real opportunity to lead, and that’s a tremendous amount of pressure for the women of the W. I also see it as a tremendous opportunity for the league to do something different and unique, and to sort of stand up for the things that are right.”
