
Yasir Kadhim
Director
Yasir Kadhim is a Director based in Secretariat’s Singapore office. Mr. Kadhim has 15 years of experience in the construction industry, primarily in the assessment of delay and disruption on construction projects including providing expert advice and evidence in arbitration and litigation proceedings, advancing and responding to construction claims, and performing risk assessments and neutral evaluations. Mr. Kadhim has worked on more than 40 projects of up to USD6 billion in value and spanning Canada, the Middle East, South and Southeast Asia, Russia and Australia.
Prior to working in construction consulting, Mr. Kadhim worked in general contracting assuming a variety of roles and gaining practical on-site experience in commercial management, project coordination, and planning. His project portfolio includes power generation (fossil fuel and nuclear), industrial projects (petrochemicals, fertilizer, and food production), hospitals and healthcare facilities, sewage treatment and pipelines, infrastructure and transportation (roads, airports, rail and bridges), oil-&-gas projects and residential and commercial developments (hotels, offices, and retail/malls).
Mr. Kadhim holds master’s degrees in civil engineering and construction law and a diploma in international arbitration. Academically, he graduated first on class and was granted numerous scholarships and awards including national post graduate grant in Canada for high caliber research. He is a CIArb Fellow and accredited mediator, accredited expert determiner by the Academy of Experts, RICS registered expert witness, and a frequent speaker in industry seminars with feedback noting the “rich knowledge on the topics” and “brilliant handling of questions”.
