
Mr. Dekker is a Managing Director at Secretariat where he focuses on providing expert testimony and consulting on complex issues involving damages quantum, business valuation, finance, accounting, and economics in international arbitrations and litigations. He has worked on over 50 international disputes including expert appointments in ICSID, ICC, SCC, AAA, and ad hoc arbitrations.
Mr. Dekker has worked with a wide breadth of clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to small family-owned businesses, as well as sovereign nations and multilateral institutions. His experience includes engagements around the globe in a variety of industries, including oil & gas, power, mining, manufacturing, maritime, financial services, telecommunications, real estate development, agribusiness, and tobacco.
In addition to his experience acting as an expert in international disputes, he has also been retained as a strategic advisor on the acquisition and sale of assets.
Mr. Dekker joined Secretariat in August 2021 following Secretariat’s acquisition of Versant Partners, where he had been a Principal for over three years. Prior to Versant, he spent nearly ten years in the international arbitration practice at a publicly traded consulting firm. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Georgetown University, with concentrations in Finance and Accounting.
