Paul Godek has more than 30 years of litigation consulting experience in antitrust, class certification, commercial damages, and securities fraud. The publication Who’s Who Legal, Consulting Experts has listed Dr. Godek among “Leaders in the Field” in the category of Competition Economists.

Dr. Godek served at both of the federal antitrust agencies. He was the Economic Advisor to the Director of the Bureau of Competition at the Federal Trade Commission. Before that, he was a staff economist with the Antitrust Division of the Department of Justice. He has also been affiliated with Compass Lexecon and MiCRA: Microeconomic Consulting and Research Associates. 

Dr. Godek has made a number of written and oral presentations to the antitrust authorities and to various federal agencies, including the Department of Commerce, the Federal Communications Commission, the Internal Revenue Service, the International Trade Commission, and the Securities and Exchange Commission. Dr. Godek has testified as an expert witness on behalf of the Department of Justice and in private litigation. He has also been retained as a consulting expert by the Federal Trade Commission. 

He has significant experience dealing with large and complex databases involved in litigation. In government service and in private practice, Dr. Godek’s work has focused on applying statistics and econometrics to antitrust and class-certification issues and to the computation of damages.  

Examples of Dr. Godek’s publications relating to industrial organization and public policy can be found in journals such as Antitrust Bulletin, Antitrust Source, Competition Policy International, Economic Inquiry, Journal of Financial Economics, and Journal of Law and Economics.
