Mrinal Jain is a Managing Director where he heads the Economic Damages and Valuation practice in India with the focus on quantification of damages, claims and losses involving complex economic, financial and valuation issues in international arbitration, litigation, and investment treaty arbitration cases.
He has provided expert evidence on complex financial, economic, valuation, and damages issues in over 40 matters (SIAC, ICC, LCIA, HKIAC, DIAC, AIAC cases) and assisted clients in over 65 dispute cases representing corporates across the Americas, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia. He has also advised international clients on more than 100 valuation projects (non-contentious). He commenced his professional career with Ernst & Young in New York in 2007 and brings with him about 18 years of relevant experience.
Mrinal is recognized as one of the leading expert witnesses in international arbitration and is recognized in Lexology Index’s Arbitration 2019 to 2025 lists and Thought Leader Arbitration Expert Witness 2021 to 2025.
Mrinal’s experience includes valuation of businesses and equity shares; valuation of IPRs including intangibles; market and economic analysis; and research and study for various purposes (including dispute resolution; litigation and arbitration support; family settlement; shareholder negotiation; joint venture (entry or exit); mergers; acquisition; restructuring; strategic sale and investments; private equity portfolio evaluation as per IPEVC guidelines; and financial reporting).
