Dr. Gale has significant experience providing economic analysis of antitrust, regulatory, class certification, intellectual property, and damages issues relating to healthcare, telecommunications, consumer products, and professional services markets.

John Gale has significant experience providing economic analysis of antitrust, regulatory, class certification, intellectual property, and damages issues relating to healthcare, telecommunications, consumer products, and professional services markets. He has testified on calculating damages in physician markets and class certification in cellular and securities markets. Dr. Gale has conducted extensive analysis of the appropriateness of class certification in horizontal and vertical restraint of trade cases. In addition, he has provided expert opinions on valuation of cable television providers and antitrust review of prospective mergers. Dr. Gale has authored filings in Federal Communications Commission proceedings on a-la-carte cable programming pricing, program exclusivity, spectrum ownership caps, interactive television rules, retail availability of cable boxes, reciprocity rules, and digital radio standards. 

Dr. Gale has assisted clients during agency merger reviews in hospital and physician services, financial information services, electricity, television programming, gasoline, mobile communications, newspaper publishing, paper products, beer, tobacco, candy, batteries, water purification, hybrid maize, medical devices, and accounting services markets. He has particular expertise in econometric analysis and simulation of competition among differentiated products. He has also analyzed allegations that hospital systems engaged in foreclosure and anticompetitive conduct affecting physicians and physician-owned facilities. 

 Before joining Secretariat Economists, Dr. Gale was an economic consultant with The Brattle Group and Charles River Associates. He also taught economics and business courses at the Mississippi University for Women and Mississippi State University.
