Today Secretariat announced the continuing expansion of the firm’s economic damages practice with the appointment of Andrew Maclay as a Managing Director based in London. Andrew has devoted his practice to the valuation of damages and forensic accounting since 1996. He has worked on a large variety of international commercial and investment treaty arbitration disputes, investigations and asset tracing assignments, including breach of contract, breach of warranty, loss of profits, sale and purchase disputes, expert determinations, valuations, contentious insolvency, fraud and corruption investigations and UK Bribery Act advice. He has testified before ICSID, ICC and LCIA tribunals, the English High Court, a criminal court, and by way of deposition.

Andrew’s experience is notable for its international elements and range across numerous sectors. He has worked in many jurisdictions, particularly France, Switzerland, Western and Eastern Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Between 1991 and 1994 he worked in Burundi, Africa, and is fluent in French. Sectors he has worked in include aviation, telecoms, electricity generation, oil and gas, renewables, extractive industries, manufacturing, retail, construction and infrastructure.

Andrew’s arrival at Secretariat further expands the firm’s international arbitration and commercial litigation offering and adds depth in London where he joins Managing Director Mark Taylor and a larger team of Managing Directors in North America, including Bob Broxson, Rob Hutchins, Paul Marcus, Chris Milburn, and Howard Rosen.
Andrew has an MA in economics from the University of Cambridge and is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. He is an accountant expert witness accredited by the Academy of Experts, a forensic accountant accredited by the ICAEW, an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a certified fraud examiner.
