ICPHSO 2026 International Symposium

September 9, 2026 - September 10, 2026

Product safety expectations are evolving quickly — and increasingly, companies are being asked to make sound decisions even when regulation has not caught up.

We are proud to sponsor the ICPHSO (International Consumer Product Health & Safety Organization) 2026 International Symposium in Brussels, where our team will join product safety leaders from around the world to discuss some of the most pressing issues facing manufacturers, retailers, regulators, and consumers.

On Thursday, September 10, Farheen Khan, Ph.D. will speak on a panel on “Social Media/Gaming, Behavioral Patterns, and Risk Assessment: The Manufacturer’s Obligations Under the New EU Product Liability Directive.” The panel will explore how the Directive is changing expectations around digital products, including social media, gaming, and AI systems, and what those changes may mean for product design, human factors, and defensible risk assessment.

Later that day, Farah Ahmed will join “Regulatory Uncertainty? No Excuse: Proactive Product Safety Strategies for a Borderless Global Marketplace,” discussing how companies can make proactive, science-based product safety decisions when standards are absent, emerging, or inconsistent across jurisdictions.

Also attending the symposium from Secretariat will be Stephen Garner, Samuel Lawton, and Justin Bishop.

We look forward to contributing to the conversation and connecting with colleagues across the global product safety community.
